Style tips

Hey guys so as promised I have a style or lookbook for you from my Thailand trip. It’s basically what I wore almost everyday. If you managed to read my last post on what I packed for my Thailand trip you would know that it was a lot of of cover-ups, kaftans, kimomos, light dresses, vests and shorts. Read this post till the end because I made a stunning video for you too, I promise that you’ll love it, even i’m super proud of myself for pulling it off.

Everyday Island Style

So if you have been to Thailand or any of the Southeast Asian countries you would know that it is humid AF! Like seriously guys for someone who lives in Cape Town South Africa, who was born and raised in Zimbabwe which averages around 25 degrees throughout the year, I still haven’t seen heat like I experienced in Thailand. So for all those slay queens out there you need to get ready to change your style to suit the weather! Also hair-style may apply in this instance too. So yes your style has to change a lot, i’m talking about embrace the baggy, loose-fitting, flowing anything that will not potentially stick to you like glue when the sweat breaks.

Have a look at the gallery below to see my style for the trip, it was very casual, easy to wear and quick-drying too.

Look  1

This is my fave top that has a an Indian inspired look and feel. It’s a burnt orange colour with some embellished details that I love so much. I think this style is perfect for the evening and in this picture I wore it for dinner and paired it with some high-waisted black shorts (see the full look in the video at the end)I purchased both items from Superbalist.

Look 2

This cover-up or Kaftan is from Spree to be honest it’s basically a scarf with buttons down the middle. It’s very light and dried very quickly which meant I could come straight out of the pool, throw it over my cozzie and head for lunch. It was a perfect day time style item. Oh and my sunnies are from Missguided.

Look 3

I wore this outfit in the early evening it was a small black cropped top from Jay Jays (no longer available in South Africa) my light high-waisted flare pants are from Superbalist. Again this was a winning combo because it was free flowing and allowed me to stay cool in the evening heat. P.S: try to ignore the scared look on my face 😉

Look 4

This is my fave denim dress from Forever New it’s off the shoulder and also doesnt cling to your body which made it a perfect style item to wear in Thailand.

Look 5

A basic black vest from Cotton On and a cute dotted skirt-I think this is from Superbalist, I literally buy most of my stuff from there, I just love their selection. Again very comfy outfit that kept me cool all day and at night too. I actually think I wore this out at night and I felt super comfy and cool. I also carried my cute little sling bag from One Of Each.

Look 6

This dress right here is the true definition of island style! It has the palm trees, its green, free flowing with an super light feel. This was a perfect dress for a lunch outing and I even wore my cozzie underneath. I purchased it a while ago from Spree.co.za and I luuuuurv it to bits.

Look 7

This last item is a jumpsuit from Superbalist. It’s made mainly from cotton with a little bit of spandex. As you know cotton adjusts to the weather and has a soft light feel. I loved wearing this jumper around the islands. It can be dressed up or down depending on where you decide to go but mostly it feels good on the skin and doesnt promote sweating!
